Default What turbo with Blox Manifold?

I have a 00 Civic SI with the B16A2. I bought a blox nmanifoid and a cheep T3/T4 turbo off ebay. The turbo bolts to the manifold just fine but there is extreme clearance issuses between the block and the compressor housing. I have ground out the webbing and a hell of a lot of the block. I took off so much that about 1/4 of the namplate is gone. It still doesnt fit. The specs. are compr .5 A/R and the turbine is .63 A/R. That tubo is not going to fit on that motor. I can't fugure out wat im doing wrong. Any help would be great!!

Thanks

Also I bought an SRE downpipe made for the blox maifold and it doesn't line up. The inlet to the compressor also comes very close to the slave for the clutch. i dont think i can get a intake pipe on it, the line is in the middle of the inlet to the compresor. Is the turbo maybe to big or something. I cant figure this out it makes no sence at all. Any Help
thanks

I have a BLOX on my b18a with a Precision SC34 (t3/to4e) had to grind away the webbing and maybe 1/2 or more of the name plate area. It will fit but you gotta get serious with the angle grinder ... I probably have only 1/16" clearance ....its tight but I am able to run AC, full radiator, and 2 fans

Oh yeah, on the intake I am just running a K&N clamped directly to the turbo. The line is in the way, I was able to bend it a little which helped but it has to be done carefully to avoid kinking it ... I think next time around I am going to make a new line that runs out of the way . The filter won't slip all the way on but its over the lip and clamped tight.

i feel that if i take any more off i will be through the block and into the clutch area. i fear for my car. what about the slave cylider it is right infront of the compressor housing. how would i get an intake pipe on it.

Well, since I am not there to look at it I can't tell you that you won't go through ... only that it's pretty thick ....

If it were me and I were that far along, might as well go till it's on there but its your motor so it's up tp your discresion.

I did mine by seeing exactly what little spot the housing was touching and marking it with a paint pen ... grind a little... check again ... grind a little more ....

IDK if your cylinder is obstructing the intake more than mine did or not ... if you're able to post pics we might be able to give you some options or better judge if it is possible to use your turbo.

Is your turbine housing a 4 or 5 bolt discharge. And by discharge I mean the downpipe side. The Blo mani is designed for 5 bolt housings and don't really accomodate 4 bolts very well at all.

i had the same problem with a rev hard manifold and an ebay turbo. I grinded that bitch down all the way until it was smooth and also grinded away the name plate on the turbo with the serial number on it. It fit in there but the turbo housing touches the block still. For the slave cylinder and filter i had to get a different banjo bolt for the slave. its really really tight though. Bit of a pain in the *** but it can be done, try flipping the turbo around so that the compressor side is on the drivers side.

the turbo is a 5 bolt. i like the idea of marking it then grind. i dont want to screw my block by grinding to much away. i will get pics up asap.

Theres a picture of mine, the turbo is actually touching the block. I had to grind a **** load off the block and u can see where i grinded the turbo too. but it works so you dont worry about ur block or turbo it will be fine

Try a UGR manifold, its suposedely redesigned to eliminate this problem. As far as the inlet pointing towards the salve, I have only heard of this problem with b16 block. B18 blocks seem to have no problem. Are b16 blocks shorter?

Its just a normal flange. I can't say a 1/2" flange as a spacer will allow for enough room on the stock studs, but you can always just get longer studs or go with bolts.

Or do the smart thing, buy a real garret super60 T3 and have the perfect street turbo for a stock b16. But then again why go against the grain? Its cool to have an oversized turbo atm...
