What tranny are you guys using for high HP cars?
I have a question on what transmission you guys are running on the High Hp cars. I'm talking about 600+ hp. I know there are companies that make custom gears, but its simply too expensive for me.
Right now my car makes around 450 hp on pump gas and 650 on race. I have a gsr transmission in it with a type r lsd. I rev the car to 9000 rpm. I have a full race t3 top mount manifold with a t66 Turbonetics turbo.
I noticed that I fall out of boost when I shift gears, and now I'm debating on switching over to a b16 tranny. Do you guys think this will help me accelerate through the gears faster? Or what do you guys suggest is a good alternative to do?

Boost is going to drop if you let off the gas to shift, if it doesnt bog its not really an issue. If it does bog you either have to shift faster or rev higher.
I run a B16 1-4th in my car, traction is a PITA but its definately responsive. If you cant put down the power in 1-3rd with a GSR tranny a B16 is going to suck worse, not to mention you have to rev higher on the top end.
