Transmission for high boost high hp apps (600-800+)
Do honda manual trannies generally hold up just fine under high boost high hp? Like 600-800hp + ? Or do they need to be specially built? The gears, synchros, etc......
Everyone gets axles, and LSD's, I haven't read much on built transmissions......are they not necessary?
Would you recommend cryo treating the whole tranny, clutch, flywheel, etc?
Thanks,
Imran

Re: Transmission for high boost high hp apps (turbozxi)
Sorry for not giving more info. Car will be used for the street mainly. It's a 94 Acura Legend, throwing in a fully built 3.5L+ V6 C35a1, and doing a full custom turbo setup, considering gt40r or gt42r. Will not be a drag car or race car, just for the street, daily driven. No need for high rpm launches constantly or anything like that. Is there any reason for concern about wearing out/breaking the gears/synchros under high hp driving/highway racing?
I have the engine and tranny out now, doing a 6 speed swap from auto. I hear the Legend 6 speed is the same tranny from the NSX, not sure though. Should I look into cryo treating it, or anything else?
Thanks,
Imran
