I have a turbonetics kit on my 2000si with a stock b16a2 I am currently running about 8-9psi what engine mods are needed to run 15psi. I have rc440 injectors walbro255, and hondata.

Bigger injectors, good tuning, race gas.

15 psi is just some arbitrary made up number. It's the horsepower that should decide if you need to upgrade pistons and rods. At 15 pounds of boost from a T3/TO4E, with good race gas and a fat tune I don't think it will be a problem, as long as you don't beat on the car horrendously every day.

alright, i drive 80 miles a day and want this thing to take whatever i throw at it at 15 psi. I am not saying i rod on it, but here and there i like to get on it. as for horse power somewhere around 300-325. must be reliable (very important!!!) You think i can do this on stock internals?

If you plan on running 15psi at least change the pistons and rods. The stock internals will break even with good tuning. If you say you need reliability then you should definately change the internals and you might want to think about getting a block gaurd.

I agree ^

If you want realiable don't get greedy. Power and reliability are opposite when you are talking about stock internals. So if you want reliable and power, then rods and pistons are in your future.

its hard not to get greedy with a turbo... everone just tries to squeeze a couple extra pounds when they become bored with the car, i did lol

get a boost controller, and then you can turn up the boost when you want to get on it, and then turn it back down for driveability. simple. But realistically, 15 psi on a stock b16a2 with 10.4-1 CR, 15 psi is bordering the limit, you will need to have a real conserative tune. Good thing you have hondata.

Hence why I recommended race gas. If you want to run the car on pump gas I wouldn't run 15 pounds of boost on stock B16 pistons and rods, it won't last very long.

i would recomend block guard, forged low compresion pistons definatly
and if you budget will go to - set set of crower rods.

I would leave it until your going to get rods and pistons.

Wow I can't believe only one other person said this:

PSI is very arbitrary! it's only how hard the turbo works. I am turboing in about 2 weeks and I want about 280-300whp if I make this at 18 PSI I'm not going to think twice about it. It just means I'll have a little more blow by and the turbo will be used up faster. It really is the HP that breaks parts and even more so the tunning. I've seen 350 WHP stock b18b's. That is really pushing it and the tune must be incredible. you can do 280 safely with a good tune and breaking 300WHP is also very doable...Again with A GOOD TUNE! so everyone stop talking about ******* PSI when it doesn't matter. The tune and HP will break your motor much faster then how much air gets crammed in...think about it.

Reliability: Well if you want super reliabilty you probably want pistons and rods for your 300-320 whp goals. otherwise with a super duper sweet tune (sorry had to ) and keeping up on maintenance the car should be ok if it's still in fairly good condition as of now.

EDIT: **** I just realized that you have a b16 so yes, that is definatly going to need pistons and rods if you want reliability You'll also want injectors then (your 440's will start maxxing out around then) The PSI thing above is still very true though
