What muffler to go with my new 3" exhaust?
I have a turbo LS motor in my 93 hatch and am going from a 2.5" to 3" exhaust. I am looking for some ideas on a good 3" inlet muffler.
Right now I am running a ss magnaflow and would like to maybe go with a different style muffler just for a change N1??. I like this muffler on here now but it seems pretty restrictive
Muffler thats on the car:
car is lower and a little different now but you get the idea

If thats a 3" straight through magnaflow ss, then I would just keep it. I have the same thing if so, and sounds awsome.

The muffler on the car is only 2.5" so its going bye bye with the rest of the exhaust. I liked the magnaflow but it seems fairly restrictive, I have that muffler with a 15" resonator and its very quiet which is ok but when you get on the the car seems kinda weezy trying to get through it lol

How can you tell it's being restrictive? A 3" straight through muffler is in no way restrictive. Magnaflow gets my vote.

i would stick with the magnaflow. just get one with the 3" inlet. ive been trying to make the same decision myself. i currently run 2.5" exhaust with the spoon n1 axle back. love the muffler but its gotta go. i think i wanna stick with the round canister (n1) style muffler though.
check out magnaflows site they have all their products listed, plus pics. just hit up the universal mufflers. with or without tips, i still cant decide.
one question i have had through the whole process though is the muffler length. do you guys think a 20" long muffler will have fitment issues?

I will measure how long mine is for you, it barely fits. IMO the tip sticks out a little far but most people like it.
Yea thanks for all the ideas keep em comming! I may go with a canister style magnaflow for the simple fact that my friend owns an exhaust shop and I get hooked up on Magnaflow, got the 2.5 ss magnaflow on the car for $90 installed brand new lol
If I dont like the canister I can always switch back to the style I have on my car but 3" for cheep.

Re: What muffler to go with my new 3" exhaust? (ECKO1980)
Keep the magnaflow. An exhaust is only restrictive as its smallest part. Plus that far down the exhaust isn't gonna increase any power really. If you want to make your car ungodly loud go for the N1 but I hope you like getting pulled over
Add: I have a 3in Keller with 3in magnaflow oval SS before this i had a thermal research 2 1/2. Kteller sound much better and not as loud. IMO
