Well, .09mm is equal to .003" which is too much. No MLS gasket will seal a sleeve that is .003" lower than the adjacent sleeve. When you get the block surfaced, hopefully #2 sleeve turned around as well, the Honda gasket works the best on these MID sleeved blocks. They can be bored larger if required.

Coolant holes are there to provide a swirl cooling effect at the top of the sleeve where the heat is greatest.

I've change the block for a new B18C and AEBS sleeves 84mm.
The Darton is now a "coffee table"

 

I still think you should have checked with the machine shop too see if it was salvagable or could even be fixed. WOuld have saved you alot of $
