Default What happens when injectors are wired backwards?

I recently put on some 450cc's. I thought I wired them in correctly the first time around, but then second guessed myself and switched the wiring to the resistor box. The car started up, but it sounded like it was misfiring. I then checked my VAFC setting and the engine selection was on 6 cylinders!

So I figured it was misfiring from that setting. Next I checked over the wiring and I concluded that I wired them in correctly the first time, so I switched the wires again.

Now, it sounds like my battery's low because the car won't crank over anymore, just a whine and die. I checked my plugs and there's fuel on them, but I'm not getting spark. Gonna boost the battery tonite.

I need some help, this whole install has been tough while trying to work 60+ hours!

I just want to know if start up would even be possible with the injectors wired backwards. Thanks.

Don't DSM injectors have a + and - on the top? either way, they're wired the same way as the honda injectors are.

I don't know, but i'll risk myself. So do not take what i'm gonna say for granted.

The injector, being a solenoid, need curent pulses to open and close. So if you reverse the current in the injector's coil, it should reverse the closing / opening moment .

That seems logical to me. Correct me if i'm wrong.

Started her up this morning, and injectors due fire up even when wired backwards. Meanteg's probably right that it reverses the pulses.

Idle's rough, still sounds like it's misfiring on one cylinder, no check engine lights though.

Need to get some air....open downpipe's killin me

Technically, an injector is a solenoid. They can't be wired backwards. The circuit is either complete or it's not. Injector open or closed. On or off.

He is correct. There is no backwards.

The resistor box will just affect the incoming signal then..

Last year i put in some Rc injectors and wired backward(accident) and when i turned my car on it sounded like a friggen boat. It was misfiring sounded like ***. It drove but something was way wrong. I took the car to jotech and they tried several different things that didnt work. Finally it ended up being my ECU. Somehow it fried the ecu , i ended up just getting a obd1 ecu and doing the conversion.
