Crank Hesitation.........
Well I am running some 450 CC DSM Injectors and whenever I try to crank the car, It hesitates for a couple of cranks and then it cranks at a low RPM and then works its way up....... Is this normal for bigger injectors? or if it isnt hte injectors, what could be the problem?

Sounds more like a starter, battery cable, connection or battery problem. Check that all connections are clean and tight first. then load test the battery, check starter draw.

This is the typical problem of using the DSM's. No one listens we we all say they don't work that great. When we don't think of Misubishi's as very reliable, why do we think the injectors are an better?

Re: Crank Hesitation......... (Spunkster)
dude, what are you talking about?they have a more reliable spray pattern than RC injectors....... Im thinking its just the extra time to Purge the injectors, so if this is true, then I won't worry. Thank you.

Sounds to me like somthing is wrong with your starting system. Bad ground, bad battery.
How can injectors effect the cranking speed? not possible.

they are peak and hold, not saturated, andsince they are twice the size of stock.... I thought it may just take fuel longer to enter into the engine....

I've had this problem ever since I installed the DSM injectors and the Hack. I don't think its the starter or anything battery related. Just letting you know, you're not the only one with this problem.

What are you actually having difficulty with? It seems like the problem is the speed at which the engine turns over as your trying to start it. It also seems your saying that when it initially catches, it stumbles and slowly begins to come up to idle speed. So which is it?

i crank engine and it cranks over and over and over again and when it catches I have to rev engine to get it going... other wise it stumbles.

Oh. You first said it cranked at low rpm.....did you meant it idled at low rpm? Sounds like you may be too rich at first, bogging the car down.

Thats what I was trying to clarify. His engine cranks at normal speed. Its when it catches...it cathes low and slowly idles up after having to rev it a little.

I think this is what people's problems are coming from...the VAFC hack is just that, a HACK. It's not going to offer a "from the factory" smooth startup/idle/acceleration/boost. It's a compromise to allow the car to run boost. That's why hondata/zdyne/whatever are so expensive, it allows the boost without messing up the startup and partial throttle conditions. I've been running DSM 450's for over a year now with my zdyne, and it starts up exactly the same as factory.
