Hows the throttle response?

Can I see a Dyno tony?

I was strongly considering doing this for my setup.

Thanks for the great comments from some of you

Anyway, the main reason of "hiding" the parts was to create a more stealthy appearance. Most of us here are turbo honda guys, so obviously, you would know what to look for.

Things hidden out of plain sight are:
- manifold
- turbo
- BOV
- FMIC

Things that create some confusion are:
- fake air box (used to be a filter when I was NA)
- stock heatshield

You'd be surprised how many "Honda" guys got fooled by my engine bay already. The non-import guys still cannot believe my Integra was stock with only an AEM CAI

To point out some things... The braided line at the manifold is an EGT probe and not an oil feed line.

The "thing" behind the heatshield is not the turbine housing. It's the downpipe. The turbine housing is tiny and it is completely enclosed under the heatshield.

I am still an all out all motor guy at heart, but my 2.0L NA motor took a crap from all the abuse and I needed something different.

So the goal was to build a turbo setup with the widest powerband possible and instant engine/throttle response. None of the 400+ WHP with turbos larger than their faces. Every turbo car I have been inside suffers from lag, but most guys don't detect it because they are either going from stock to boosted, or just more boost and a larger turbo. But from an owner of an all decked out all motor setup like myself, even a little turbo lag seems like forever.

EDIT: My turbo setup as follow (updated on Jan.31, 2005):

B18C1 with 11.5:1 CR (10.1:1 CR Arias Pistons with extesively milled head)
Eagle Rods
Canadian Cylinder Heads Technology Ported B18C1 head
2001 USDM ITR cams
Garrett GT28RS turbo with 0.86 A/R tubine housing
HKS manifold (internal WG)
3" Downpipe and exhaust
26" x 6" x 2.5" FMIC, with black heat coating
2.25" charge pipes, 2.5" near throttlebody(s)
HKS SSQV mounted near front fender
Jenvey 51mm ITB's with custom middle-entry plenum manifold
RC 550 cc/min, fuel pressure at 60 psi
AEM EMS
9200 RPM redline
Running 11-12 psi
Custom Alchy/Water Injection (not pictured)

Let's just say my car drives close to my old NA setup, but with a lot more power and torque everywhere else... Low-end response is not as great, but the midrange power really makes up for it

Intercooler pic:

The coating is an actual heat emission coating... commonly used in condensers and factory radiators.

Most likely, videos will come sooner the dyno... Gotta wait for a couple of buddies to finish their buildup so we can all hit the dyno one day at the same time

11.5 C/R on a BB GT28. Dam, must be a VERY nice car to drive.
Curious as to how much timing you run on the top end with 10psi?

Oh, one more thing. Do you get a good enough range of MAP reading at part throttle for a solid part throttle tune with that vacuum log? Having helped a friend tune ITBs while still using the MAP was very difficult as it only took about 25-30% throttle opening to reach an indicated 0" vacuum, and the end of the maps.

Defiantly NOT a stupid question!!
Why do you have it like that?? Not a good thing

Damn that's freakin crazy!! So how much power you think you're putting?? Most importantly, how does this car compare to your previous one???

My guess: it's fake.

looks good
u can see the EGT line
but the vacum manifold gives it away
the wastegate can be seen
the VTEC controller (RPM activated switch, ghetto but works) is funny
the valve cover seems to be hooked to the valve cover... but hopefully is not.,.. i am saying theres a catch can somewhere since theres another line on the front of valvecover..and it was just routed to mislead.. as u can see the line on the intake is smaller

ITB's are sweet btw

I love anything hidden like this. Where did you get the intercooler painted? I have wanted to do that for my DA but I haven't found anyone in town or a paint I can shoot it with. Again...Very Nioce setup

dood you could of done a better job than that. hehe
I actually though about using stock intake arm/box. and using the air BOX to place a dsm bov in there but for the charge piping simply just use some big *** radiator hose.

I see that your runing a t28. I've always wonder what the power band would look like. I'ma huge fan of small turbos on FI honda (see links in sig) I'm using an apexi kit bb turbo with hks manifold.

man i reallly would kill to see your midrange power.

Nicely done!

This is the first time I've seen someone go to such lengths to hide their setup!
