what do you think this motor will make?
my friend has a B16a2 and has a turbo kit sitting at his house. the kits not 100% complete but hes kinda short on cash so i just wondering what kinda power it can make as is.
*stock motor*
-T3/T4 .50in/.63ex
-IC 24"x12"x3"
-3" down pipe
-FMU (rest of fuel system is stock)
-NGKR 1 step down
-VAFC2
i think thats about it. also what if the fuel pump & injectors are upgraded? how much power then?

I just don't understand why people go cheap when boosting?........just so the car can last 6 months or so - then they have to rebuild everything. Do it the right way - so you won't have to come back. Its just boost - its not going anywhere. Take your time. Get pistons/rods/maybe a sleeve job. you don't necessarily have to touch the head - but its always a plus. Do it right.

well yeah that was the idea. what im asking is how much power do you think could safely come out of it with that stuff alone?

what psi? i think without a good tune or anything - u'll make 230-250whp boosting 7psi if that. maybe less. Tell him, if he was smart - he'd wait until he has the funds to boost his car. Seeing that its stock - and has no REAL engine management - its going to blow in a couple of months. why? Because your friend is probably a ricer and he'll beat the **** out of his car everyday - trying to race M3s and STIs - while getting his *** handed to him. Then in a couple of months - "KAPOOI" - the motor is done. And seeing that he has no funds, he won't be able to get it fixed - THEN he'll try to sell the kit he had on his car - probably make close to nothing, and then he'll have to start from the beginning again.............most likely this is true.

Re: (hks85)
He took out a loan, or he put down 230,000...........if he put 230,000 on a house, he's a dumbass - because he could habe put down 200,000 and had a nice car to go in the garage also

Just from personal experiance dude, DON'T do an FMU. I did it on a car that had no ability to run a chipped ECU or any other form of fuel management and even with a forged bottom end, it last less than a year before the catastrophic failures started. It's just not healthy to subject stock infector to that kind of pressure just to make them flow barely enough to keep a motor alive.
If he can afford to do a K swap when he kills this one, then he can afford to do the boosting right.
