some type of metal mesh type screen works well. Honestly there are lots of filters out there that can fit most applications. If its a daily driver i would not recommend a mesh screen unless its absoultly necessary.

well its a dd but I am waiting on my slim fan to get back and so the stock radiator fan is in the way so I cant put a filter there. I was just wondering would it be ok if I did something like a screen but what do you guys use to do yours

you cant put a tube there because the radiator fan is like right next to it like a 1inch so basically you cant do anything with a tube or filter there.

the real question is why have 2 slim fans failed on you? did they just wear out or what?

exactly. my 1st slim fan went out because the heat from the manifold melted the wires. it was too close to the base/motor for me to fix so i just bought a new one and heat wrapped em...

Re: (homemadeturbo)
You really should use stainless screen as the aluminum screen will eventully tear and get sucked into your compressor wheel.
