What are the dangers of using nitrous and a turbo setup at the same time?
Just wondering. I want a 50 shot nitrous system (Zex), and I have a T3 set at 6psi. Thanks

Running that setup will cause serious durability issues on stock internals.. At 6psi with a 50 shot, you're looking at roughly 80-100 horsepower load on the engine at any given time from when the turbo spools. It's great for off the line, you're untouchable. But it puts ungodly amounts of stress on the drivetrain and engine. The engine really doesn't have time to compensate for fuel mappings and ignition timing changes.. Plus, the most obvious problem is the pistons... The side load on free standing cylinders on an aluminum block leads to cracked pistons/sleeves/rings/head gasket.. Too many bad things to compensate for..
Simply put.. I have a bullet proof vest for my job, but I couldn't take shotgun shells..

kaaaaaaabooooooooom unless you are running an upgraded fuel pump, larger injectors, ignition system with boost retard, fuel management system, and tuning on the dyno. internals are nice to have also...

As far as dangers, let see what we can think of:
1. Rod through the block anyone?
2. There goes a headgasket, we don't need it anyways
3. Valves, aren't they made to be bent?
4. Got air but no fuel cuz the pump can't keep up?
These are just a few..but yes, I would say you would want to build it a little before hitting the funny gas + turbo...

why do you want to run nitrous when you're only boosting 6psi. UP THE BOOST

I was speaking with a representive from Zex and they said nitrous should not be engaged before 2,800 RPM. Is this true? Because I was thinking about running a small (maybe a 30 wet shot) before my turbo spools. Then using a window switch to stop spraying before it hits boost. Would it be possible to run a small wet shot almost right off the line and have it cut off right before boost without problems? And I would get this setup tuned.
