I just installed a greddy turbo kit into my 2000 civic EX and i was wondering what brand BOV I should buy. Also does it matter if the BOV is made for a different car? I have been looking at the Blitz super sound.

 

I have the Blitz right now, and I am not impressed. It hasn't worked 100% since I have had it. At very light spool, it will blow off, but at certain narrow throttle angles it will stutter a little. It also tends to stutter more before the car is warmed up. But, when I let it spool a good bit, it will work good. I have it loosened all the way which prolly isn't good cause it may be leaking under full boost (I don't know if it does this because I don't know what happens when a BOV leaks under boost). It doesn't leak under idle. I will prolly end up getting another BOV then send this one back to Blitz to see if they can work with it (then sell it).

 

i bought the greddy type s for my kit for my 00 civic. will install this week. i will let you know. i also hear that the hks super sequential bov is good also.

I might try that HKS super sequential to replace this Blitz. Does anyone have any comments on this BOV? Any compressor surge at all while using it?

 

i have the turbo xs rfl model, it is a very nice unit and id recommend it to anyone, especially for the price. I think they are below 200, i dont know what retail is on them, cuz i didnt pay retail.

 

i personally like the HKS SS. It has a nice high pitch, loud sound, and i have not heard of anybody having problems with it. My brother has the Greddy Type S it is nice but i prefer the sound of the HKS better.

 

HKS SSQV works for me... looks good, sounds nice, and does its job...

I'm actually in the market also, It seems I'm picking up my B18B and TD05-18G Greddy kit on Wednesday. I'm Hyped , but none the less...

Anybody have sound clips of any of these BOVs? Thnx in advance.

 

Have not had any problems with my HKS SS, and people always say they love the way it sounds. Not too soft, not too loud either.

Sounds DAMN good when you blow off under an overpass...

i have the greddy kit on my Civic EX, too. i run the turboxs Type S. despite its sissy purple color, i think it's great. sounds awesome -- like a stereotypical BOV with a nice loud PSSSSSSssssshhhh -- and works great. hasn't leaked on my yet, and it's been installed for a little over a year now.

 

i used to know a site that gave sound clips for a bunch of the blow off valves, but i forgot it
