bov leak have a question..................
i recently discovered my bov (greddy type s) was not hold a seal and couldn't figure out why it seemed like my car was only boostin 2- 3 lbs. so i plug the bov up where it would let my boost shine. the car pulls hard as **** BUT i don't wanna risk ******* anything up. its gonna be another week or so before i have cash for a new one but i was wondering can it be the diaphram? how harmful is to boost with no bov? thanks.

no bov + boost = compressor surge = broken turbo. heres what you can do with the type-s. you know that little niple on the bottom of the bov? tap that into your chrage piping, or some where BEFORE THE THROTTLE BODY, that will allow a more positive seal and prevent it from leaking
Man i hope you don't mean that you took the bov completely off cause you need the bov to let the air out when you shift. open the bov and check the diaphram for any cracks or pin holes
It's going to cause severe compressor surge and most likely kill the turbo. Think about it, When you let off of the throttle the BOV releases pressure(hence, the swoosh sound we hear). Without the BOV the pressure has nowhere to go but, back to the compressor causing it to surge.

thanks fellas for the info. i have boosted on it today but it was out of stupidity. my car has been runnin like **** for months now and that was the problem.............. so when i felt what the car should have been doing a long time ago i got stupid with it but no more. thanks
doesn't the effects of compressor surge dependent on how much boost you're carrying??? i.e. if you have small boost the pounding (even though bad) is less than high boost... there have been stock turbo systems without bovs.
