Went to Uberdata from Hack. My experience/thoughts.

It should be noted that Pats map is actually -2 degees accross the board from what he is actually running. There was some time contraints on the dyno, so I elected to not adjust his dizzy to match the maps and just make a mental note of it.
He is actually at 20* in boost on the low cam and 19.5* on the high cam.
Good observation on the low speed timing @2000. His timing down there at 0" is still stock. I usually advance 3-4* from 1700-3500 ish w/ noticable results. Cant get anything past you
I dont however, like to ramp up the in boost timing under 3500ish. I prefer to hit full timing advance around the same area as stock. 3500 in the case of his Z6.
Pats timing overall IS conservative, but thats how I do it on other peoples rides. We did add 2* to a total of 21.5* on the dyno and saw no noticable gains , so I elected to back it back down. Lower peak combustion pressures w/o lower power.
I agree that D's dont require any retard till around 6-7psi.
Heres the revised map that should be matched to the dizzy at idle.

Ohh so true.

what is his dizzy set too????? this is ransackle's bin?

Like any map, your dizzy should be set to match the map. Should be 15* in his case. The unfortuate thing about Pats map is that was on an older version of Uber, the last 2 columns were never being read. Although his car is fine, he was running alot more timing than we thought. Basically, I wouldnt use any 1.65< bins.
To answer you timing question though, anytime your not sure what to set your dizzy at, just open the bin and see what its supposed to be. Typically this area is always left at the stock setting, but on something so critical, its wise to check if its not your map.
I like to do my idle timing like this to ensure timing matches.
Edit: Image host is being gay. screen shot will be up later.

i got my timing at the dizzy at 12 as well as the idle timing on the map , and my car runs like **** till 3k....i mean falls flat on its face.
Sorry it's a little OT, but does uberdata work with p30 ecus that use automatic tranny?
I'm currently using the hack until now and I'm contemplating on switching to uberdata.

This is great that you posted this. Regardig the "boost dependant (stepped) ignition timing" (let's call if BDSIT
) issue: I think that it would be really beneficial for everyone for you to take that beast to a dyno, with two chips in hand--one tuned without stepping the ignition timing and one with... it would be great to see some numbers so as to give further validity to your azz dyno and others' conjectures about additional power for the BDSIT method. Anyone care to donate some dyno time for this guy?

really? My timing at the dizzy is probably only around 11 because i can't raise it any higher because of where I have my zex cam set at and my maps are 4 degrees retarded everywhere from the p28 timing map and mine doesn't fall on its face at all. It feels really smooth.

hmmmm , that sounds wierd.....
i uped mine 2 at the dizzy , and it made a big improvement . i upped the ignition timing 4 degrees on the map , this weekend ill install it and readjust my dizzy
