went to the track today.... here are the times...
I raced at Palmdale today, I think there were only 2 Ludes including me... I was a bit dissapointed, and my shitty launch.... I made 4 passes, here are two of the best I made.
1st 2st
I1: 2.434 2.542
I2: 6.375 6.524
I3: 9.537 9.670
I4: 12.142 12.254
E.T: 14.492 14.580
MPH: 99.324 100.386
My car is 97 Prelude 5 speed, custom turbo kit, T3/T4 full ball bearing stage3, F-Max manifold and downpipe, straight-pipe, Greddy EVO exhaust
fuel setup is Vortech 12:1 FMU, stock injectors, MSD inline fuel pump.
I had a lot of wheelspins thru 1st and 2nd gear because of my crappy falken tires, and I lost to a turbo miata and an all motor civic....
I believe I can do better next time with some better tires and a good launch.

carlsbad is pretty ***. if you're car is fairly lowered or you have a kit expect to have some damage to it by the end of the day. getting in and out on the dirt roads is a pain in the *** and everyone there is a redneck. Dont forget to watch out for coyotes while you're racing, I'm not kidding either.

the race was cool, there were not too many street cars though, the fastest was a 2nd gen RX-7, 8.56 sec!!! oh yea, and a lot of cars broke down on the track... broken tranny, axles...etc... and there was a Skyline R33 GT-R Vspec, right hand drive, ran a 15.8 sec....WTF??? the best track I've been to is Pomona, but too bad they don't have street legals anymore...

Yea I had no traction in 1st and 2nd gear.... which brings down my 60ft time... what kind of street tires is good? my falken tires are shitty....

the lower the treadwear the better for grip. or you can just go with drag radials on the street, that's what i use.
are you holding out each gear or hesitating with the turbo. i know lots of people who won't reve the car as much with their turbo nows as they did with their n/a motors. what are your shift points.

this is why you apply the throttle gradually. dont just mash it like a fool b/c you will sit there and spin, just do some practice, give it as much throttle as possible without slipping.

I shift when the shift light comes on, it's set at 7.4k rpm. I launch at about 3k-3.5k i think, I couldn't tell what exactly it was because my tach is fucked up, I did let the clutch go gradually, but as soon as it the boost comes up, the wheels spin like hell, same in 2nd gear.... it was my first time to the track though, need some practise....
