Default Well good new, and bad...

I get an email today from Steve (sGT) that my Hondata 2B + harness is on its way (Thanks Steve!!!), and everything is looking great! So I call my local Hondata tuner SFP so inquire as to tuning and installation. Get this, $125 to install it, and $500 to tune it!! So I'm gonna spend $625+ to plug in Hondata and tune it.. does this seem right to you guys, or is this an awfully exhorbant amount of money! Let me know what you guys think, in the mean time I'm gonna look for some vasoline cause this is gonne hurt!

by install it you mean socket the chip and add the little harness for the hondata blue box right? i had steve do mine and it was 50 plus shipping. and i think the tuning should depend on the amount of dyno time needed * the amount per hour for use of the dyno.

Well I ordered the ECU and Hondata, so I assume it comes put together. It's just a matter of removing my ECU and installing the P28 and plugging in the harness.. $125 for that! Wish I could do it myself, but I have no way to tune the Hondata so I can't drive it with it in there unless it's tuned.

If i included a base map with your hondata, then you should at least plug it in
yourself and see how it runs first.

I try my best to make the base maps drivable.

Well, I guess the question is did you include a basemap or no? I guess if I plug it in I'll find out anyways right?

you can always go to TopSpeed in Naples, I'm sure they can do it for a lot cheaper. That's just too much. Or else you can go to VaporTrail in Tampa, I don't think he would charge that much. Getting any work done in Miami costs alot of $$ cause your in Miami..

If i included a base map it would be in the ecu.
Look inside, there should be a chip installed in the socket.

What shop do you use in Tampa ?

VTC, SFP will rape you with price.....

BTW, I wouldn't let them put my car on their dyno, even if they were cheeper..... I suggest you try a shop a little further north... better safe than sorry...

I have my own small shop, complete with a dynojet 248c and wideband. However, I'm a wee bit backed up at the moment with a H22a turbo Accord + Hondata project. When that's done, I got about 4 other cars lined up behind it It must be tax season again But after I'm done with the Accord, I shouldnt have a problem getting some dyno work in again. I won't be doing much this month, my project is nearing completion as well, so sometime at the end of the month I'll be shutting down and banging my car out as fast as possible
