Default weird track numbers...need help

okay, i have a turbo b16, with a cable LS tranny, 205/45/16 tires...i just got back from tracks, and got these numbers...

60ft: 2.5 (bad, i know)
1/4 time: 15.4
1/4 speed: 94mph

now, thats what i dont understand, the trap speed...my friend with a type-r ran his car, and he had the same speed as me, but ran .7 seconds faster in the 1/4...what could be wrong here?

you are spinning the tires too much probably. Usually when you get high trap speed and bad et, it's due to poor traction.

That trap isn't too bad, but for sure you have no traction down low to run a 60ft of 2.5 and a time of 15.4. Maybe let some pressure out of the tires, drop at a lower rpm, feather the clutch a bit, etc.

What's your setup?

i would like to know the setup also? Those times seem really bad even the trap for a turbo b16 (i feel your pain with traction).....i ran a low 14 @ 103.95 with d16 on 6psi with a 2.4 60' on 185-60-14 dunlops...

okay, i got a stock b16, with gsr cams, i am using the hack...t3/t4 turbo, but i think thats where the problem is...i think i got a boost leak, so the car was only boosting from 6000-8000 rpm...i knew that was the problem of the low times, but i wanna know why the trap speed is so high for such a slow time.

You need more practice driving. I've clicked off consecutive 103-104 mph traps and ended up with ET's ranging from 13.6-14.1 seconds. The problem is traction. I was running nitrous and only had khumo 712s on the car. If I had a 2.2 60' I was rewarded with a 13.6. If I had a 2.3 60' I had something around 14.0. Practice driving or get some drag radials and then practice driving. Go race on some backroads with a couple friends or go to the track. Just figure out how to exploit all of the power that you are making. You'll be in the 14's once you get that 60' down to a 2.3, and that's still a **** 60' time.

94 mph is not high though. That is a high 14 second time with traction. Seeing as you had no traction your mph will be higher than normal for the time you run. I'd check all your problems before you head to the track again, your off a good 10mph over what you should run with a basic setup.

even with no traction you should put down better times than that. that is what i ran with just a ls swap. with a boosted ls i went 13.8@105 with no traction in 1st or second. try using better tires n see what happens

Thats your problem........fix it.
Your basically runing a stock b16 in your car, but with a "little" kick up top. honestly i would be surprised if your set-up is making more then 160whp...

I'd fix your boost problem first, then learn to drive your car before venturing into the world of traction...

id invest in some upgraded axles before i bought slicks. if you go for slicks say bye bye clutch and sooner or later bye bye axles.

More important than your loss of power situation, a boost leak overspools yout turbo and it will start shitting out oil in short order. Tear the car apart, don't drive it.
