Is it better to launch high like 5k or lower with a b16?

 

i'd say around 4000-4500 try it and see, just slip the clutch, dont just drop it. But if it bogs down at 4000 then go higher, if it spins to much go lower. Good luck..

Exactly ie like what kind of car is the B16A in??

Personally I launch no higher than 3500 rpm and run about 22psi on street tires... mid-to-low 2.2s 60' times aren't that bad for a tire with treadwear 480

My times are in my sig.

 

I leave at about 4500 and ride the clutch pretty hard. I wince everytime hehehe

I run 205/60 x 13's at about 12 psi

 

i/h/e test pipe 2.5 exhaust suspension, ground control & kyb agx street tires 15x7 dunlops.

 

In mine I launch at 4500-5000. It is tricky. I am still learning. But upgrading my clutch wednsday. The stock clutch sucks. If you launch too high I have found that you hit v-tec before you get anywhere. Which sometimes helps.

 

With 22x8 slicks i launched @7800rpm and did 1.8's solid B16a

 

The best I can get is 2.3's. (60 ft)

But that is in AZ.

 

with modded b16 and slicks w/ portflow head, itr hookup on the cams and intake manny etc. would launch at between 8 and 8500 rpms - that crap is crazy but it takes that to get out of the hole if your motor can take it - best 60 ft. in a 2570 lb. car was 1.78
