Default drive on the highway with open downpipe?

I live about 1.5 hours away from "project dc2". I need phil to make me a new dp because mine is wrong and his welds looks very nice. Is it alright to drive that far with an open downpipe?

Yes. Don't boost because unless your fuel map is set up for an open downpipe you may run rich. In closed loop mode the ecu will keep things in check (e.g. non boost highway part throttle conditions).

I ran open downpipe the whole time my car was running last year (1 month) and never had a problem with a turbo the car isn't ungodly loud, since most tuners tune cars a little bit rich anyway you will be fine rag the **** out of it i bet you won't want to put exhaust back on it

if your really worried, buy a foot long piece of flexible exhaust tubing, and connect the dp to the exhaust.

Im running open downpipe right now and its not all that bad, just my car sounds like a freight truck with al the spool noises and such. But when i have gotten on it the wideband reads 10.5 at full throttle. Its kinda close to stoich at partial throttle though so id figure youd be ok driving as long as your OUT of boost.

I ran a 10" dp (big enough for the o2 housing and to dump down from august through november. car smells like hell, you get high all the time, and its loud but not THAT loud. Open dp all motor cars are 10x louder!

I boosted the **** out of my car with that setup with no problems
