Weird idle problem...help
I recently started having this prob with my boosted H22. High idle after driving for about 10 minutes. It will give the normal high idle (1500) at cold start then will fall to about 800 after it is warmed ( in about 5 minutes). But if i take it for a spin, by the time i get back it will begin to surge 1000 -1300-1000 for a few minutes then it will rest at about 1100 , which is to high. I alreay checked the fast idle valve and replaced the iac valve, but it still happens. I also have no vacum leaks.
Any suggestions??

Re: Weird idle problem...help (mtber)
You still have a transitory vacuum leak. FIT-V might still be worn or carboned up slightly, and IACV generally work or don't so replacing them over idle quirks is like kissing guys when you're dating a hot chick - makes no sense.
1) Disconnect or disable the purge solenoid, and see what that does for you.
2) Suck it up and block off the FIT-V.
3) Suck it up and block off the IACV and reset idle via throttle stop and with fine adjustments (100 rpm) via the idle screw.
I have a dollar that says #1 fixes the problem, and if it doesn't #2 and #3 will.

And she'll stall on you half the time. Excellent advice.
