Ever since I turbo'd my y7/y8 mini me it has been surging slightly at idle. It surges from 1000-1500 and sometimes it stops for a while then comes back, but most of the time it is surging. I have checked for boost and vacuum leaks and have none. Coolant is bled and no air bubbles in it. I had no such problem before turboing. Is this normal for a turbo'd car running and obd2-1 harness with 450's and a basemap?

 

need further tuning...its possible that your basemap is surging it...

 

Yeah I am getting tuned this sunday. Just wondering if it was a normal thing to have on an untuned basemap.

more than likely it'll be a tuning issue. What is happening is you've got too much fuel in one cell which causes it to idle up, then not enough in that new cell, so it idles back down. Does that make any sense?

 

No, but as long as it can be fixed with tuning I'm good.

 

Got tuned, but idle surge is still there. Tuner said he's had the problem before on an em1 and he spent hours and still couldn't figure it out. Someone must know.
