erratic idle problem
it might be your Fast Idle Thermo Valve or your Idle screw.... here's a test...
when your lude is idling weird... take off your intake tube and in side the trottle body on the bottom left (closer to the firewall) you should see a port, cover this port with your finger (while it's at idle), you will feel suction but not to the point were you'll lose a finger, hehe. Once you put you finger over this port.... if your idle settles out, then it's your FITV... but if it doesn't, it might be your idle screw. To lower your idle, screw the idle screw clockwise...... in turn, to increase your idle, turn the screw counter clockwise ...if your idle is boucing, more than likely your idle is to high for some reason.... if it's the idle screw then turn it clock wise.
Hope this helps.

well it depends... what motor do you have F22, H23, or H22?
If it's the F22 it's located on the top right side (if your standing in front of your lude) of the intake manifold.... if you have the H23 or H22 it should be located under the trottle body. F22 position Part# 9 http://www.hondaautomotivepart...81%29 . For the Si & VTEC is Part #13
http://www.hondaautomotivepart...82%29 . Let me know if this helps.

yeah, blocking off the holes will work. the fast idle is easy to fix though, just take it apart, clean it, and put it back together. i have a plate blocking off my EACV.

I had the same problem with mine, but not as bad. It would surge from 1200-2000RPM. I tried the easiest fix first and adjusted the idle screw. Now it idles fine. A little low, but im gonna bring it back up.
mine does the same thing, ive never heard of the idle screw or fitv though
mine does it when the ac is on and im at a complete stop, it does it in neutral and gear. is this the same thing?

well i took my ac out, but it all started when i did the throttle body coolent bypass. the fast idle thermo valve (bottom of TB) is suppose to stay open when the engine is cold and slowly close when the engine gets hot. well if you have no coolent running throught the TB the valve thinks that the engine is cold, so it stays open...when the engine is actually hot. i experienced lost of power and a erratic idle. i put a plate over the ports and took the valve housing off, and problem solved.
