Default wastegate spring question

i have the generic tial wastegate from ssautochrome for now... there was a 11 lb spring in there before... i recently baught a 5.83 lb spring and a 8.78 lb spring from their website... but the thing is, the 11 lb spring that it came with is bigger than the springs that i purchased by at least 3/4 inch. the two springs i baught are smaller, and when i put one of the smaller springs in and tried to boost, there was no boost? y is there no boost? can someone please help me with this? thanks!

well the wastegate definatly isnt stuck closed or you would have boost galore..Im thinking you should put the original one in and try again and see if there is boost.

has anyone swapped out a larger spring for a smaller sized one or the other way around? is that normal? u would think that all the springs should be the same size with different tension right?

tial has 2 diffrent size wastegate springs depending on how much boost you want.

they have a small and big spring as you can see from their chart.

Maybe your wastegate isn't shutting all the way.

If the valve isn't closing all the way then exhaust gas is getting past it and it might cause you to not be able to build boost.
