Default Wastegate question

What is the diff between a .45 bar spring and a .7? Does it mean that you have to be pushing over .45 bar for the wastegate to open up? Sorry, i just dont see why you would get a .7 if that is the case. Thanks

A 0.45bar wastegate will allow you to boost 0.45bar. A 0.7bar wastegate will allow you to boost 0.7bar.

No that is your base psi, you can go higher with a boost controller, but no lower, make sense :

yeah, but what doesnt is why is would someone have a a .45 bar and not run .8 bar on it, instead of speninding more money for the .7 bar?

It's all personal preference what spring size you go with.

but my question is, why would you pay more to get a .7 bar if the .45 bar does the same?

um last i checked it was the same price wether you got a .35 bar or .65 bar spring. It would only cost more if you decided to swap springs after you already bought the wg...
