Default Wastegate question

What is the diff between a .45 bar spring and a .7? Does it mean that you have to be pushing over .45 bar for the wastegate to open up? Sorry, i just dont see why you would get a .7 if that is the case. Thanks

A 0.45bar wastegate will allow you to boost 0.45bar. A 0.7bar wastegate will allow you to boost 0.7bar.

No that is your base psi, you can go higher with a boost controller, but no lower, make sense :

It's all personal preference what spring size you go with.

but my question is, why would you pay more to get a .7 bar if the .45 bar does the same?

There are many reasons. I'm sure others will chime in.

um last i checked it was the same price wether you got a .35 bar or .65 bar spring. It would only cost more if you decided to swap springs after you already bought the wg...
