im about to buy a used turbo setup from somebody. what should i look for to make sure im getting everything i need? How can i tell if the turbo is good? I know he is selling it because his pistons melt. Last two questions, if i boost 6-8lbs, is 370 obd1 preludes injector enough? and should i go 2.5 or 3 inch exhaust?

just my opinion... ludes a fair size motors 2.2-2.3 a lil bigger then the B16's and B18's so 3inch downpipe and 3inch exhuast no cat if u can get away with it. with 3 inch downpipe ull either want to get a lovefab sidewinder or some specific kinda of AC friendly(assuming u want to keep your ac) manifold... maybe a flex pipe. as for injectors... 370 would proabbly be ok... but u might want to go 440's just to be sure, its kinda hard to go TOO big so that its a REAL problem, you could probably run 550's if you wanted with out much problem(assuming u have a standalone aka hondata etc) but its not necessary at 6-8psi... hope this helps some

I don't believe preludes come with 370cc injectors now do they?

When shopping for a turbo kit, consider if youw ant a/c p/s or not. Then ask if the manifold will support what you ware looking for. Check turbo shaft play, up, down, left, right, in/out. Do not spin the turbo w/o oil.

Oil lines would be nice. MOre than likely, you'll have to piece it together still, no kits are totally complete

thanks for the replies. So when checking the turbo dont spin it? just check if it goes in, out, and side to side? i think obd1 preludes is 370.
