Regarding your problem, if it's not opening your getting alot of boost then? I never heard of air blowing out of the top hole.

Re: (crxzcracer)
Yes. But there doesn't have to be a hole for air to come out... the edge of the diaphram could not be sealing. it could be damaged or not installed correctly. If you have taken the wastegate apart, be careful when re-assembling it. It is easy to pinch the diaphram.

Re: (crxzcracer)
Also note that if air is actually coming out of the wastegate, you have a vacuum leak.
Can you push the plunger in on the wastegate? maybe it is seized internally. I mean, you are working with a chinese made knockoff wastegate here.

but if i take the waste gate off the car and blow in the hole on the side as boost would it just blows out of the top, it souldnt blow out the top unless it hit the pressure at which the wastegate sould open then the extra air would blow out the top

Re: (crxzcracer)
Ok, first, nothing should ever come out of the top port of the wastegate. It's sealed. If you are blowing in the side port and it comes out the top port, there is a huge leak inside the wastegate.
Second, the wastegate does not bleed off "extra air" out the top. The wastegate is a bypass before the turbo, re-routing exhaust gas past the turbine wheel. This prevents the turbo from making additional boost. It does not bleed off boost.
