Default Wastegate Problem

I'll let the pictures speak for themselves:

It's a tial 35mm on a friend's car. Is this wastegate shot or can that piece be replaced? The turbo will only spool like 3 psi even with the vacuum line to the wastegate disconnected.

It was pinched together by the top of the wastegate... The pictures are after I tried to fix it a little... It used to be pinched like perfectly flat.

I'm new to this whole boost thing, but it looks like the rubber diaphram went bad. You say it was pinched. It's only rubber and the wastegate gets warm, so it probably got a little deformed. Just enough to where it won't make a good seal anymore. See if you can buy just a replacement diaphram. Should be able to and have it be as good as new.
Again, I'm brand spankin' new at this.
