wastegate And electronic Boost Controller
im putting togher my first turbo kit and im looking at a 38mm tial wastegate, if im correct the wastegate controls the boost level with a spring that i chose. if this is correct than how can i use a electonic boost controler? ide like to be able to adjust the boost level with out changing the spring the the WG. i dont know if im not understanding how it works or something. thanks for your help

yes, thats right. The boost silinoid with the controller can regulate/raise boost. Just remember it cant go any lower than the spring setting.
Also, might want to try to find a set of greddy profec instructions online, it explains it also.

I figured I would post too just for the hell of it... Say you have a ~7lbs. spring in your wastegate... With the boost controller you will never be able to go lower than your what your spring is rated at but you can go above... It simply applies pressure gained from the turbos "boost" in addition to your spring... This way the two work together allowing you to go over your spring rating... Hope this helps

Yea, that's close... It works against exhaust, so say you're running an EBC and you get to your maximum desired boost level... The solenoid(s) pull a little boost from the gate which in turn lets it open dumping some exhaust before it ever hits the turbine... Once it gets the boost level under control it applies pressure again... Of course the EBC and solenoid(s) are modulating this pressure so fast that you really should have a fairly stable boost level... I probably didn't need to post again but I don't wanna do HOMEWORK, ahhh

Re: wastegate And electronic Boost Controller
I searched and found this, but I do not follow. If the wastegate spring is 7psi and you set the boost controller to 7psi what would you be boosting?

If you're running a boost controller "calibrated" at 7lbs. and you're running a 7lbs. spring you ARE really just running off whatever off the wastegate (7lbs., no adding or anything fancy)...

Re: wastegate And electronic Boost Controller (Kataku2K3)
Ok what about 8 on the boost controller with 7 for a spring? It would be 8psi of boost, right?
