Default VTEC engagement with conditions...

I read a lot of topics with the VTEC engagement point as conclution is possible to say that it engage at 4400 RPM for the primaries and 5800 RPM for the secundaries.

I have 3 questions:

1) What is primary and secundarie?
2) This points of engagement are same in '94 GSR and in other years?
3) Exist a diference in the engagement points if the car is boosted (Turbo or JRSC)?

Thanks a lot in advance

The 5800 rpm you hear of is the butterfly valve. It's not another Vtec and GSR's only have them.

In a GSR with a JRSC this "butterfly valve" is removed... right? This is the one that is in the admision?

Preludes also use secondary runners in the manifold..

Well on a JRSC'd GS-R, the JR unit replaces the manifold, so yes, the butterflys are removed. Same if you ran a Skunk2 manifold.
