Re: vortech supercharger on sir2 in crx (Black CRX)
GO TURBO!!!!
hahaha ok here my explaination.
If you plan on any s/c its gota be the jrsc. Vortec is a good s/c, but not for low diplacement engines, like most hondas. They work best with muscle cars and such, because those cars only have low end and the vsc gives them alot of topend. Now with the b16a2 already being a very peaky engine you don't want to add more too that. I mean sure vortecs 251(i think) dyno look great and all but if you examine it, the car has close to stock hp/tq figures until it gets into vtec. Its just not worth it, it cost much more then the jrsc, and turbo. Now you probably wanted vortec for a reason the dyno PEAK hp #s, and even though jrsc doesnt come close to it, the jackson should hang if not beat a vortec car.
Still, you should go with turbo. A vortec bassically combines the bad of a s/c(no versatilaty(sp?)) and the bad of a turbo(turbo lag) but the turbo can be tuned easier, GO TURBO!!
