vortech 2 liter civic on hondata webpage. mounting
I just saw the blue civic in this link that has custom mounted vortech SC in place of air conditioner
I know its old news but I can find any pictures or info on how its mounted and positioned there I would love to see the setup
anyone has pictures of what needs to be done?
im very interested in mounting mine there instead of using the shaft that came with it since my shaft is busted( welded on the input shaft of the gearbox for some reason)
Dyno - Killer Bee Racing 479 HP Civic
I was also gonna use the clutch type pulley from previa supercharger

The crafts work supercharger is basically the same with a front mounted intercooler. But i take it you already have a vortech unit.
heres some pics of a similar setup i dug up from this thread might wanna p.m the guy who has the clutch type supercharger on that thread,

Well its got a water to air intercooler to cool down the air charge right before the throttle but yea it should at least have some heat wrap on the piping.

its for landspeed record I don't think you gonna even see the difference at 190mph
but im asking if anyone has pictures of the actual car and how they mounted it
I wanted to see so I don't have to do it by trial and error

Imagine that, only instead of the charge piping coming out straight forward into a 90, then into a U, then into the intercooler, the supercharger is clocked so that it's routed straight up, across the exhaust manifold, and around the valve cover.

the part where your answer Is completely unrelated to what were talking about probably.
im talking about the picture you posted right above my post with the ac mounted vortech.
I have a full kit with the power cooler I know what the original setup is.
I was curious if you knew the picture you posted has a custom made front mount of is it off the shelf intercooler on it.
I always thought they only come with inlets/ outlets on each side not on the front or back of it

And this is why you should be more specific. I thought you were talking about the first picture, not the one I posted. How do you not know about back door intercoolers? They're extremely common. Also, if you tried to visualize what I said along with the picture I posted, you would have realized that a tight 90* bend attached to a U bend would go directly into where a standard intercooler's inlet would be.

I never built a turbo motor in my life I know details about NA not turbo I have no clue whats available or possible. I just started reading about it like a week ago.
but I see what you mean with the 90 degree

Your gonna have to go with trial and error, no picture is gonna show how to mount it exactly, it will give you an idea but you will still have to do your math mocking it up. I had to do the same with my ATI Pro charger, its a discontinued B series supercharger, i bought it used and incomplete and there was no instructions and i couldn't find any useful info online only pics so i had to mock it up and with trial and error i got it to work right. All the intercooler and piping was still custom fabricated by me so you will have to just go at it and try and make it work.

Re: vortech 2 liter civic on hondata webpage. mounting
Hmmmm... I am unaware of a counter-clockwise rotation Vortech blower... this is the reason the supercharger is originally mounted above the transmission and driven by a jackshaft. Placing it in the A/C location would require a bracket mounting design much like the Kraftwerks kit with dual idlers mounted beyond the blower pulley centerline from the crankshaft and a double sided ribbed belt. I suppose one could mount it like the ATI Procharger is mounted... turned around below the frame rail. This however would not explain the charge pipe routing in the picture you posted.

Re: vortech 2 liter civic on hondata webpage. mounting
the one that NAracist posted is exactly what im gonna do as well.
similar to the previa supercharger mounting above.
just wanted to see the bracket. looks like im gonna be doing same exact one as above
