Hey I got a few questions about the edelbrock victor x turbo kit. Thinkin about putting one on my 2000 civic si along with some rc injectors. What size would be good for this application. Maybe 550's? Im also wondering if the intercooler piping will clear my fogs? Anyone got this kit?

Maybe somewhere around 300whp in the future. Right now this is what my setup looks like:

I/H/E
Buddyclub spec II cams and cam gears
Titainium retainers and springs
Chipped P28 on crome

It looks like Ill get around 255whp just bolting it on but is it possible to get 300 out of it with dyno tuning? Is it safe to do this if I dont have a built bottom end?

you should be able to use 440's or something around that if you're only making 250whp...
But i recommend getting @ least 550's, cause you know you are gonna want more power someday, and then you wouldn't have to upgrade size again...
plus, you run a lower duty cycle with a bit bigger injectors, so you don't have to worry about maxing them out.
And if you haven't already, you should upgrade your fuel pump. Walbro is tried and true...

oh and about your internals....
I wouldn't go too much higher than your goal before u start puttin rods in and such.
I am not sure exactly what your bottom end can (in theory) handle, but if you plan to go big (i call 300+ whp pretty big) you should also spend the money and do your motor.

550's it is then! Yeah I cant wait to build the bottom end, just need to save some $$. Think a block guard is a good idea? Thanks alot for the help man!

If I install new pistons and rods should I just throw a block guard on just in case or is it just a waste of $$? Also do I need to put new bearings in when I switch the pistons?

If you do a block gaurd do it the right way. Hand fit it first, then TIG weld it in, then get your cylinders bored. If you hammer it in it could either crack your cylinders or egg shape them.

I would replace all bearings if your going to install new rods.

You're getting ahead of yourself. Your 300whp power goal is completely reasonable on the stock block...NO BLOCKGUARD! I'm not very familiar with the Victor X turbo setup and don't know what kind of power its good for, but i would imagine with the right fuel your goals are easily attainable. If you only have access to Premium fuel, you may have to cut your power back or upgrade to a slightly larger turbo.

Very true, but one of the better CARB legal kits. IDK if he has to abide by those standards or not. If not, there is no reason to get this kit as i see it...

Thanks everyone for the info. I probably wont go with the block guard then. One more question tho. I have Buddyclub Spec II cams and was wondering if they would be ok to run with this setup???? Or do I need special cams for a turbo?

GS-R cams are best with this setup. You Buddy Club IIs will have a bit more overlap.

If i had to run the buddyclub cams for a while would it hurt anything? Would it be easier to tune with the GSR cams or something?
