finshed my remote turbo kit!
yesterday i finished my remote turbo kit on my crx! im going to have it dyno tuned tomarrow with a dynodynamics dyno and see what kind of power it will put down. this project has been a long time in the making but my fabricator and the tune shop are sure it will surprise a lot of people. with all internals built were looking at reaching 15-18 psi
when i finish tuning the car I will post pictures as soon as i can to give others ideas if they are intrested in trying a simular design. also i will post the power from the dyno tune

where'd you mount teh turbo? the only place i can think of that has enough room is where the muffler goes

Ok i got print outs so far but havent got them scanned in to post. but i can give you all some info on the set up... there is not spare tire place that was removed so from the back of the car you cant see the turbo or anything.
stock manifold for the purpose of keeping volosity of air high to insure boost, 2inch piping to the turbo that is heat wrapped. a 2 inch charge pipe so the turbo doesent have to have a large volume to fill so boost is more afficant.
I have a t3 turbo oil cooled only externaly wastgated.
no cat no resinator no muffler yet.... its a little loud but not mutch different then some cars with fart cans on them. the charge pipe runs along with the exhaust pipe and under the motor and turs tward the batter spot and comes up there. the blow off valve is out of sight greddy RS
oil supply is braided steel -6 supply from a sandwitch plate and the oil return is -10 and is pumped a scavenger pump by http://www.turbowerx.com
RC 750cc injectors a little mutch for this build but they are tuned in and emissions arnt that bad also using a gm 3bar map no 02 or charcoal canaster crap all bypassed with the S300....
we disconected the charge pipe to get an idea of what kinda power it was putting down at the wheels NA...it was only 87.4whp at 6800rpms
after it put down 147.3whp at 7psiat 7000rpms
and 15psi was 206.9whp at 7000rpms
this is Dynodynamics numbers which are load bearing and simulate road conditons to and extent
Dynojet numbers would be 15 - 17% higher and they are free wheel dynos (not load bearing...
the goal in a few months or so were going to go and burn a map for race fuel (110octain) and will shoot for 20-23psi and the tuner said that at that point we should see 260-280whp
its phuq-n fast
oh one more thing some folks might have been worried about spool ability... well no problems spooling starts at 3000rpms and full boost is acheeved at 4400rpms and doesent fall off at all...

Engine and turbo specs? I made more on 7psi than you made at 15psi with a stock Dseries...

He went from 87 whp with no turbo to 206 whp with 15 psi. he doubled his pressure and more than doubled the power with a remote turbo system.. I think that's pretty good.

Re: finshed my remote turbo kit! (Firefoxracer)
I'm guessing this is a lower-than-stock compression D16Z6. 87whp for 8:1 stock d16z6 is about in line with the norm. I'm intersted in the turbo size though. Considering my 8.2:1 stock d16z6/50trim T3 did 160whp @6psi with a manifold made from a 4-1 OEM DX header, and worse - has the stock cat & b-pipe, i'd almost guess the turbo is smaller, or that your IAT's are a tad high if you don't have an intercooler. You also have smaller charge piping thats longer. I also dyno'd on a new dynojet that can simulate loads, but I never got a clear answer if it was beign used as such at the time.
for boost!
This would be a cool setup if you lived in Cali - use an AEM CIA and a DC header, and no hood-popping cop would tell the difference! (unless they listen closely when you drive)

Re: finshed my remote turbo kit! (fmfkid250)
dyno jet dynos are not load bearing they dont give acurate numbers of what the wheels will actualy put down on a road it just gives the power as if the car was up on jack stands they usualy put down numbers that are 15-17% higher then the actual power that is being produced
