Default Upgrading map sensor

Im goin from about 240 whp to around 350whp, gonna run around 1 bar of boost..

Im wonderin If it is necessicary to upgrade my map sensor

Stock map sensor will do up to about 10.8psi..

Yeah, you can get a 2.5 for cheap or just get a 3bar.

11.3 max actually. I wouldn't personally push it past 10.

Opps.. The AEM EMS only works it up to 10.8, thats why I said it.. Its a 1.8bar map sensor..

motorola 2.5bar from digikey is dirt cheap. like $20usd or something

or you can get the GM 3bar but thats alot more money

GM 3bar replica from Bosch is about $60 shipped from lightningmotorsports.com

Most are universal with the right program to convert the voltage into something that works for the ecu/application.

You just wire it up correctly and scale your program to the map sensor you are using. If you have questions about it, just let your tuner set it up for you.

But if you do a search on a 2.5bar map sensor, there is a write up for how to install it.

I would recomend the motorolla 2.5 bar map sensor. I think it is by far one of the better map sensors out there.

would there be any problem with runnin the stock map sensor until I actually tune for the high boost..

Nope you can run the stock map sensor for up to 12 psi, if you really wanted to. You can run it on basically whatever PSI you wanted to. But it is not smart and leave no room for error, meaning mechanical error/overboosting.
