Type-RS BOV Adjustment?
How exactly does one adjust these type of BOV? I know there's a stem/bolt on the top side indicating "soft" and "hard", but how do I know which is applicable for my application and by how much?

generally you want it tight enough no to leak and loose enough not to surge so if you arent getting either of those things then you should be good to go

The boost on the top holds it closed. If you tighten it too much, you will get surge. If you loosen it up too much, I think it falls apart inside. I just loosen it up until I get a smooth blow off at 3-4 psi, with no surge. The RS whistles, unless you set it hard.

How exactly would I know which setting is right though? Sounds I adjust it while the engine is running and just pull on the TB cable to see if it blows off properly? Or is there a way to adjust it just by listening to it just at idle?
Sorry for the noob questions, I simply want to make sure that I'll be doing this the right way. I've spent too much to damage something at this point.

You probably won't make boost in neutral. You're going to have to give it an adustment and take it around the block, rinse, repeat
Can you hear compressor surge? There are some sound clips somewhere. You just want a clean woosh, no TS,Ts,ts,ts...
Greddy RS are set all the way soft from the factory (usually).

in all honesty you really shouldnt need to adjust it at all. im sure it moves enough air for your run of the mill turbo honda. but if you do need to adjust you would have to road test and listen. if the turbo is getting compressor surge then loosen the bov. or if you are leaking boost (look at the gauge) then tighten it. really cant get a good feel at idle you wont even really be able to build boost.
