Turning up the boost on b16a2 with stock compression ...
I am currently running 5 PSI on a stock b16a2. I have a 255 lph fuel pump, and a vortech 12:1 FMU... I currently installed a Air/Fuel gauge that also reads injector duty cycle... at 5 PSI , I am only at about 50 % on my injectors.... can I turn up the boost to 6-7 lbs without any worrys of detonation, or needing to hook the MSD 6 BTM ? or should I get a fuel controller before turning up the boost to be on the safe side...?? Any help or advice is appreciated... Thanks.
I'm running 6psi or so on a JDM 2nd gen B16a, with about 10.4:1 compression. Your a few points lower than me. I also have NO INTERCOOLER as of yet, and have not had a hint of detonation. I'm running 16 deg advance on the dist.
For fuel management i'm using the vafc mod w/ DSM 450s.
If you dont have any problems with leaning out, i say go for it. If you want to be safe, retard your timing a degree or two.

Actually I pushed the car close to redline and it came close to 80 %.... I usually dont drive it that hard unless i'm at the track... but I only want to boost about 6-7 lbs for now... I have a greddy type 31 intercooler though... I only have the stock injectors right now, but I was going to get the 450's and I think I have a injector resistor box from a CRX laying around.... but I need to get a VAFC .... . I also have a missing link/check valve since my car is OBD II , does that have any affect on the VAFC mod ?? .... I dont know if I should just get some 310's or get the 450's and the VAFC....
i'm pretty new to turbo and always lookin' to learn more....
Thanks in advance.
