Turbo Smoking, Oil Problem
I am running a 1993 Honda Civic EX with a 95 Integra GSR engine turbo. It is your basic integra turbo setup with the oil drain coming directly out of the bottumn of the turbo into the highest point that you can tap on the oil pan. I just had this turbo rebuilt completely by Texas Turbochargers and i put it all together and the car is smoking and burning oil really bad. Its no the motor though, i took the turbo manifold of and started it open header and it didnt smoke so the problem is not the motor. The motor has 1500 miles of break in time on it and is built with 8.5 compression, eagle rods, je pistons, je turbo rings, msd ignigtion, chipped and tuned ecu for fuel and engine management. I heard of there being problems with oil pan ventelation not letting the turbo drain because of there being to much preasure in it. There is also oil in all of my turbo piping and when i took the outlet off the turbo when the car was just shut off it had oil driping from it. Please help. Im stuck.
1. Are there any kinks in the oil drain line?
2. What is the diameter of the line?
3. What is the length of the line?
4. Are there any sharp angles in the line?
5. Does the line slope downward at all points?
Pics would help... If there is oil present inside the compressor housing and charge pipes then oil is bleeding out from the seals. Assuming the turbo is in good condition (should be since it was just rebuilt), it's more likely to be an improper drain than excessive crankcase pressure.
