Default turbo sir2 problem... please help

i have an sir2 (obd-1) motor and just put a drag gen 3 kit on. as soon as i hit boost, my car feels like it chokes. i was told by a local car shop that its running lean. i dont have any gauges hooked up yet. i am running the drag fmu. i upgraded to a walbro 255lph fuel pump and just put on a b&m fuel pressure regulator and gauge. also have a act stage 1 clutch, everything else is stock. boost is stock 7 lb wastegate. does anyone have any idea why my car feels like this when boost comes on. i've only gone into boost for a split second about 4 times. my idle is also at 2-2500 rpm for some reason, maybe my iac valve? before i put on the turbo, the motor was completely fine. oh yeah and i have a new thermal 3 inch turbo exhaust, it smokes a lot sometimes, i dont know whether thats because its a brand new exhaust or because im having problems. any help would be great. will be installing greddy profec spec 2, hks turbo timer, electric egt, oil pressure, and air/fuel gauges. also thinking of going the cheap route and tuning with a vafc and maybe bigger injectors. thanks, happy new years!

for the funny idle, check the iacv, put those elecronics on asap, especially the gauges, ditch the fmu and get hondata
