Default turbo shaft question

i dont know much about turbo. My buddy just got one
But the shaft part is chew'ed up. i know he's looking for a
57 /60trim shaft to replace it but cheapest he found was over 400.

believe its a 57trim? garrett turbo.. ill send him this link since i dont have
a clue what im talking about. anyone know where we can purchase
the internal peice....

measure the inducer/exducer of the exhaust wheel. that will determine what shaft/wheel can be used. If its a 57 trim or 60 trim, that cost is about right. Its not an inexpensive piece of equipment. Also, if this is your first time disassembling the turbocharger, it may be in your best interest to send it to a rebuild shop and have the internals replaced as well, since it must be torn apart anyway.

That's a stage III exhaust wheel/shaft. Contact a rebuilder such as gpopshop.com and send it in for rebuild. Without it being balanced with the compressor wheel you're using, doing it yourself is not much of an option.
