guys I just noticed my turbo has some forward/backwards play... is it normal? or should I be worried about balancing at this point? I dont know nothing about this turbocharger so im thinking maybe the previous owner took it apart?

 

There is always going to be a little bit of shaft play in a turbo that has been used. Even if you rebuild it and use it for a week, it's gonna have a little shaft play. If the compressor wheel is scraping the walls, that's bad. Or if there is shaft play in and out it would want it to be rebuilt.

 

well it doesnt have any shaft play to the sides it just has some in and out play the whole wheel assembly moves in and out just a little bit
