Default turbo setup?

hey guys i have a 97 hx. i have been thinking about swapping/ or turboing my single cam. im leaning more towards turboing my d16. my goal is like 200whp- 220-whp. its a dd too so i want it very very very reliable. what should i do to the engine, what turbo setup should i get. im new to the turbo thing and dont know too much. i would like to be spooled by 3500-4000. i want to run 10-15 pounds of boost but be RELIABLE. WHAT SHOULD I DO. i have a d16y5. im thininking baout swapping the y8head on it too

Default Re: turbo setup?

there are soooo many threads here on h-t already but just because im sitting on the boat ill clue you in...

for some thing very reliable on a dd that produces 200 to 250 whp it would in my oppinion a lot cheaper to just swap for a b series ....

but if you absolutely wanna go fi and have it a very reliable dd the safe steps would be to start to do a compression and leak down check, from there i would recommend at the very minimum arp head studs. if your not gong with forged bottom end ie, pistons and rods, 250 whp is really not that much stress that you would absolutely need forged internals or sleeved block

as for accomplishing the power you should not have any problems with a .50 .57 t3 at all. depends on how much you want to spend/ reliability . plus you need to pick up injectors, 2 bar map, if you plan on running more then 10 lbs. fuel pres reg ect...

most important is your tune i highly advise investing in a 0bd1 conv harness then getting a basemap done until you can tune the car .

what is your budget ?
