Default Turbo Set Up

Hey guys I have a fully buitl block, sleeved low comp pistons eagle rods, etc the whole nine yards. The head is completly stock. Right now it has a full greddy turbo kit but im looking to get more power. So I was wondering what turbo/wastegate should i get, i already have a ramhorn intake manifold. Any and every bit of advice would be appreciated thanks

Im assuming you mean a ramhorn exhaust manifold playa. What are your power goals? That will decide on what turbo your wanting to go with.

I would like somewhere around 300+ with the setup i have now it would be a waste to even get it tuned, I mean dont get me wrong pulls well but its just a small greddy turbo with an internal wastgate

a T3/T4 should be enough for 300whp

Don't need anything larger. You need to simply change wastegates to a stronger one from a GT28RS or so, and eliminate the 2" downpipe. There are plenty of 18Gs making over 300whp without the need of change either turbo nor manifold.

Seriously. If you want an excuse to get more equipment, just do so, but the Greddy Kit is more than capable, it just has to be altered a bit.

Hi !
A setup I made did 322 Whp on a 18G greedy kit, very similar to your setup.

get it to flow better with a 3 inch exhaust, get the boost higher and honestly, it would be a VERY, I mean, EXCELLENT idea to get it proffesionnaly tuned by a good tuner.

the 18G is no small turbo, look at the map of this thing, you will be surprised at what it can do. You can go to a 20G if you want, but honestly, not worth it.

for the power goal you aim, stick with your setup just take that money and put it toward flow improvement ( good intercooler, good boost piping, good exhaust ) and turn up the boost.

a ramhorn manifold will do you good along with a GT28RS. That turbo spools up real quick but power is limited. The gt3076r is a great turbo and if it fits your budget i would suggest that first.

X2....enough said right there. When it comes to turbos, I'd listen to Mac (TheShodan)

This is a much better approach than re-doing the whole thing for some "Ramhorn" manifold a GT2860RS, which is actually smaller than an 18G at just over 36lbs/min. The 18G is 41lbs/min.

Many of us have bigger manifolds and turbos and run AC. You have tons of room there. U will have no problem. :D
