5 months of downtime + engine ran for 260 miles and 2 days, little upsetting for me but **** happens... just have to keep wrenchen...

urf mang, that is heartbreaking, maybe you sound better than you are doing, but i'd be so far beyond '**** happens'!

i bought it off ebay,fits fine even with a carbon trunk its called like MU style or something it was like 250 for the carbon version and 100 for fiberglass

What kind of plugs are those?</TD></TR></TABLE>im think lack of fuel is the cause,failing pump maybe....the plugs were bosch i told the owner to get some ngk 8 or 9 range plugs and he came up with some bosch platinums that cross referenced to an ngk 6,stock plugs were a 7....since i was at work during the tune,i didnt even know about the plug situation untill after the engine died...how much of a factor do you think it may have played?

A 6 heat range plug at that power level on pump has could have definitely played a part.

For the power level it was making at that boost level on pump gas, i'm sure it had a lot of timing as well, probably another huge factor. It was definitely detonation that killed it.

It was definitely detonation that killed it. </TD></TR></TABLE>the thing about the timing is...the base map that was used for this car was taken from a yellow s2k that full-race built and you tuned...i believe the timing map was untouched from whatever you set it at on the yellow car...im not sure how much differently the timing should have been set since this was a 10.0:1 motor with a log manifold and a smaller turbo compared to the low compression,tubular manifold 35r powered full-race s2k...would you think the timing may have to be changed drastically between the two different setups?

I heard there was significantly more ignition timing on that car than the yellow one.

And a log manifold makes a HUGE difference in the knock limit on those engines.

The tune between those two cars should be VERY different.

The tune between those two cars should be VERY different.</TD></TR></TABLE>i think the tuner basically took your map and adjusted the afr's and then charged the poor owner $700+...i really dont think the tuner did anything to the timing maps but we will see once we are able to pull it up on the computer..once im able to get it ill try to post it for some tuners to look at

Chris called me and asked me about the ign. timing, he said there was about 7 more deg. of timing than his map had in boost.

Who "tuned" it?
