turbo ?'s: need some light shed on my choices
im planning on going turbo in the near future and am wondering what turbo i should run. I want to hit 300whp on my stock block b18b1. Also, this will be my only mode of transportation, so i dont want something to crazy or big. The main turbo i was looking into was this:
Garrett T3/T4E 57trim, 63ar, 4 bolt turbine discharge
Would this turbo, with an equal length manifold, be able to yeild the power that i am looking for, while still keeping it drivable?
also, is a t3/t4E turbo the same thing as a T3/TO4E?
thanks

yes a T3/T04E is the same as a T3/T4E....people are just lazy and don't like to write the extra letter.
That is a good turbo to use for your setup; however, there are better ones available. It really depends on your budget. Personally i would go with a Precision SC6152E on a ramhorn/topmount. You could see 300whp on that turbo at around 10-12psi. Garrett turbos are less expensive, but i would spend the extra and get the Precision. I'm doing the same thing on my new build. I'm getting rid of my T3/T04E 60 Trim Garrett and getting an SC6169E.
If you really have a nice budget, you could get a GT3076R or a Borg Warner S354...

^ ^ What he said. If you're looking at a kit that comes with the t3/t4 use it, you'll like it, and it will get you into the 400hp range. If your piecing it, I've heard nothing but good stuff about sc61's. Good luck

Re: turbo ?'s: need some light shed on my choices (sc4dr)
yea i was mainly looking into piecing together my own kit
ill definitely start looking into the sc61, and if i use a topmount, will i still be able to use my a/c and p/s?
mainly a/c because this is my daily driver and i live in tx so it gets pretty hot
