Default -turbo problem-

i have a t25 turbo that had minor shaft play(suposidly just had new seals put it) that i just finished installing. i cranked it up and oil leaked out of the return line. does the return line have to be a certian diameter? im thinking mine is too small... some oil came out of the downpipe that was hangingtoward the ground. im thinking either the seals in the turbo are bad or the oil return line s too small and the downpipe is right there for it to drain into.

what is the problem?

the feed is 3/8" outside diameter and the return is the same but the inside is around an 1/8"

My apoligies. But when someone said they just installed their turbo and oil came out the return line, I get all giddy like a little kid. I don't really see the question here. If it came out the exahust side of your turbo, your oil is too thin or your seals are shot. Try thicker oil (mobil 1 10w50). It solved my minor smoking problems!

the kid i bought it from put the seals in, the oil is leaking out of the downpipe and from the return line, 1/4 play up and down hardly any side to side

try a smaller feed and larger return. Most of us run -3an(3/16) feed and -10an(5/8) return. Even with this im getting some oil past my compressor seal on a brand new turbo. Im gonna try a restrictor in the feed line.

so could i be feeding too much oil ? i didnt think the oil would feed any faster cause the pump will oil pump so fast and a smaller line would just create more pressure

im gonna try a bigger return line tomorrow

true but its less of a volume...but definately try a bigger return first or maybe some type of restrictor on the feed.
