Which turbo for my setup?
So I am researching for my setup that I plan on getting for my b16 hatch. I am going to put together my own turbo kit. I will be on the stock block, looking for about 260 hp, and then building the block later and looking for 375 or so.
I plan on using a spoolinperformance manifold and downpipe, and a T3/T04e turbo, but I am confused on what trim and AR size and all that **** means. I will be running on pump gas and tunning with either BRE or Hondata. As far as I know I was planning on running a 57 trim with the .63 AR, but I am unsure of how many different measurements their are on a turbo, since some people just say t3/t4 57 trim, or 60 trim, or 63ar hot 50ar cold...I am just confused on what I need for my setup
TIA
Aaron

Forgot to add, this is a daily driver with occasional trips the the drag strip, so I would like spool time to be decently quick...

then get either a .48 a/r or a .63 a/r..the .48 a/r will spool up quicker than the .63 a/r....
.48 a/r = quick spool and mid range power band and little top end
.63 a/r = little lag w/ mid to top end power band(good for street & strip)
.82 a/r = laggy w/ hella top end power band( mostly for drag strip)
so hope this help...

so is the "AR" just a measurement of the turbine side of the turbo, or the compressor side? And if so, what is it measuring.
So far I think it will be a T3/To4e 57 trim with .63 AR and stage 3 wheel? does that sound about right?

the a/r could be measure on both exhaust and compressor...your turbo sounds good for a street & strip set-up...

i would say get the .63a/r .57trim. that's what i'm running now. i had the .48a/r .50trim before. my old turbo was great for a quick spool. but the .63a/r just hulls when boost kicks in.
the .63a/r will give you some room to grow too. you won't have to upgrade in a turbo. if you think that is too small, get a t3/60-1
