Default Turbo LS question?

Will a 8lb flywheel make a big difference in my Greddy turbo LS running 8lbs?

I feel like that flywheel is too light. I would keep stock.

god you guys are dumb

lighter flywheel, regardless of na or fi, will allow you to accelerate faster. 8lb would be great. Its when you have an itr or b16 tranny and are running 30psi is when 8 lb is too light... but 6 psi, greddy kitted LS would benifit VERY much from an 8 lb flywheel

get it!

have u ever tried to luanch a car w/ an 8lb flywheel? For a 6psi greddy kit I think the money can be spent better elsewhere.

right above this post there just happens to be a lightwieght flywheel thread. Check out what these people had to say about an 8lb flywheel. - https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=612401

the way i see it. why deal w/ the drama. stock flywheels are easy as hell to launch, you don't have to worry about ur car stalling or bogging down, and its not like they are so heavy that they rob 10+ hp. money is spent better elsewhere.

Werd, lighter isn't always better for flywheels.

yes, i have... i have one with an act 6 puck/xtreme pressure plate... Maybe im just amazing but it took me about 2 or 3 launches to no longer stall... you can still launch at 1300 rpm, when i use to race i'd launch at about 4k. with slicks the car will bog if you aren't careful (that's why you get a smaller slick).

you just need to learn to drive it, that's all... learning to drive a stock flywheel is exactly like learning to drive an 8 lb one.

like I said..........my opinion. I don't like lightened flywheels. My buddy hates his. I never heard the guy metion 6 psi with a greddy kit. I think the money could be used in another place like Direp said.

i have a fidanza (7.5 lbs) on my 300-320 whp LS, and i had no problem launching (1.7-1.8 60 foots all day long on 22x8x15's) nor does my car bog, stall, or anything else of the sort.

I find that lot of the negative things people say about flywheels is just hearsay, and not from actual experience. For me, I have no issues at all at the track with the flywheel.

I agree that money can be better spent elsewhere, but i had to do a clutch for the turbo anyway, i figured what the hell and get the fly...im satisfied with it, it just revs so much faster its great

I agree with that as well. It was just my personal opinion.

its really personal opinion... i have a 14lb i think? it works fine for me... if i had 300 bones to throw into an upgrade it would not be into a flywheel.
