No clue. Stock rods and pistons were engineered and put into an engine that made 200hp or whatever these things made in stock form. They highest I have heard of them holding is around 800-850whp and have personally seen them in a car or two that ran in the 9's.

People bag on Eagles, but I have seen a few off the shelf sets of Eagles run well into the 9's many times over and never give up. Even if they are rated for 600whp or whatever you say they have got to be better than a stock rod that was designed for 200hp.

I've seen eagles stretch rod bolts and pound out bearings at 500whp on a gsr motor, as well as on numerous other motors making similar power... I always go with Manley Turbo Tuff rods for peace of mind... never had an issue

Seen off the shelf Eagles last in a B16 that passed through the traps over 10k rpms. That same engine went mid 9's a long time ago. I have personally never seen Eagles give up and do not know anyone that have had any problems with them. Every brand has broken I am sure, but for the $$$ I don't think they can be beat. Especially when you are upgrading from stock. If I were building an actual race engine, then yeah, I would probably go with something nicer, but for something to have fun with Eagles have worked fine for me.

Here is a little thread from a long time ago. Notice the mention of Eagle rods. https://honda-tech.com/forums/showth...ighlight=Eagle

jeff merdich is using eagles on his 860+ whp stock sleeve k20 hatch. no issues. Eagle actually rates there rods for 900hp. I used them on my last build at 700hp and the car is still going strong. I know quite a few people using them in the 7-800hp range and I personally haven't heard of a failure yet.

hmm... makes me think twice about turbo tuffs and JE's. I'm also shooting for 700-800 whp ~11:0 compression. I wonder if i'll need to clay my motor if i'm going to run stage 2 or stage 3 prayoonto cams.. I have some stage 5's from an all motor build but i'm going to see if i can exchange them

I would probably clay the engine unless you know from a good reputable source that you will not have any interference with the parts you are planning to use. In stock form some of K engines come with 11:1 compression and there are certain aftermarket cams that will put the valves in the stock pistons. I am not a seasoned race engine builder and I am not familiar with all the parts out there, just what I was told by a reputable source. I do know that the Prayoonto Stage 2's work really well in turbo setups and I do not think they have interference problems with 11:1 comp pistons. I would still talk with a good tuner/builder. Chris Treblic is a good knowledgable source.

I don't think we are saying that the Eagles are any better than the other rods, but for the money they work awesome in my opinion.

Bump 😎 any updates on this? I loved the last project from the 'mom YouTube video' lol looking forward to mom taking another test drive if she dears.

Have a question for you: where did you get your flange and clamp for the Borg T3 housing?
I'm having a bit if trouble finding one to fit and the regular ones I did try will fit but won't seal.
