Ive had bad o-rings on the 2 vtec jets on the drivers side of the head go bad. They were not holding the pressure causing the rockers not to lock. Hope this helps.

there was a local kid with an n/a 00si that ran like complete *** during the vtec changeover and he couldnt figure out what it was. Turned out it was a clogged cat. so thats a big possibility in this case. good luck!

Dealt with that a couple of days ago on a client car as well. When the timing belt was properly adjusted and set, it made a WORLD of difference.

Same problem with my turbo b16, would boost nice and then die in the **** for some reason.

Was a clogged cat converter, took it out, fixed everything up

cam timing, i'd take apart the head and make sure everything is lined up tdc(crank pulley, camgears), make sure u have the right cam on the right side(intake cam on intake side and vice versa), and then set ur timing at 16 degrees and go from there. hope this helps bye, also check ur timing on ur tune, should retard about 1 degree for each pound of boost or somethin like this, please correct me if im wrong. thanks

Have you swapped a known good dizzy on the motor to rule that out as a possibility?

i was going to say coil, but it would show as lean spikes and the A/f looked good.

i once had a stock cam gear that was off about five deg.

We put it all back together, everything looked in working order. i cleaned all the passages and we got a new solenoid.

I will check the distributor today.

NO CATALYTIC converter on this car, i forgot, he runs our 3in mandrel exhaust, so thats not it.

Cam timing is perfect.

Both exhaust cams are lined up perfectly

Im about to boost my R, I wanna know wtf the problem is. Could something like this be electrical or other sensor related(besides VTEC Solenoid)?

I would think the Fuel Filter would shop up in the a/f ratios.

but at this point ill check it out

im gonna pull the turbo off and put a header on it and see what the power does

well, heres my thinking:
if it was seals, there would be oil there is none
it holds boost so i would ASSUME the turbo is functioning
